Members Welcome BBQ
New and returning members are invited to meet at the club, enjoy a free BBQ and hear what’s planned for the 2026/27 season. Date details will be announced on Facebook.
Fishing calendar
Six competitions. One strong club.
Each event finishes with a sausage sizzle, refreshments and the chance to swap stories back at the clubhouse.
Australia Day
Australia Day Competition
Held over the Australia Day long weekend, this relaxed summer competition is followed by a family-friendly BBQ, refreshments and live entertainment.
2nd weekend Feb
Tathra Game Fishing Classic
Our flagship offshore tournament brings game boats and anglers together from across the NSW coast on the second weekend of February each year.
Easter
Col Russell Memorial Easter Competition
Held over the Easter long weekend, this special event honours Col Russell’s contribution to the club and brings families, juniors and seasoned anglers together for a memorable weekend on the water.
Late May
TAFC Snapper Shootout
Held on the second-last weekend of May, our new premier inshore competition uses a unique competitive format to bring together the best snapper fishers on the Sapphire Coast.
June–November
TAFC Topwater Classic
Our annual tuna competition targets Bluefin and Yellowfin Tuna on topwater gear only. Timed to the bite window, the event will be held between June and November.
Christmas
Christmas Competition
Held over the Christmas long weekend, this festive competition wraps up the year with great fishing, family fun, prizes and plenty of Christmas cheer back at the clubhouse.
The flagship tournament
Tathra Game Fishing Classic
A Southern Zone sanctioned tournament based at Kianniny Bay, drawing boats from up and down the NSW coast for serious fishing and a great weekend ashore.
